Indian Oil Corporation Limited as the State Level Coordinator for SAKSHAM 2024-25 in Uttarakhand, organized the Valedictory Function at Indian Institute of Petroleum Dehradun

Dehradun -28 February 2025– Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), as the State Level Coordinator (SLC) for SAKSHAM 2024-25 in Uttarakhand, organized the Valedictory Function at Indian Institute of Petroleum (IIP), Dehradun, highlighting the crucial role of Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) in promoting energy conservation and environmental sustainability. The event witnessed an enthusiastic participation of 200+ attendees, including scholars from IIP, senior scientists, and Heads of Departments (HODs) from IIP, along with officials from the oil and gas sector, and government dignitaries dedicated to fostering responsible energy practices. Saksham 2024-25 was observed during 14th Feb to 28th Feb, 2025 across India under which various activities including Walkathon, Cyclothon, Group Talks, LPG Panchayats and many more, were organised.

The function was graced by Shri Amit Kumar Sinha (IPS), Additional Director General of Police, Uttarakhand & Special Principal Secretary (Sports), Govt. of Uttarakhand, as the Chief Guest, and Sh. Hemant Rathore, Executive Director & State Head, IOCL, Uttar Pradesh State Office-II as the Guest of Honour, along with representatives from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd, and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. Sh. Hemant Rathore, in his welcome address, highlighted the commitment of OMCs, in driving awareness campaigns, implementing energy-efficient measures, and working towards a cleaner, greener future. Dr. Harendra Singh Bisht, Director, IIP Dehradun, also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of research and innovation in achieving sustainable energy solutions.

While addressing the gathering,  the Chief Guest, Shri Amit Kumar Sinha (IPS), stressed that small steps lead to bigger impacts and that even simple actions in daily life can contribute significantly to energy conservation. He encouraged individuals to adopt sustainable habits and be mindful of their energy consumption. The Guest of Honour, Sh. Hemant Rathore, provided a compelling vision of the future of energy in India, elaborating on how Oil Marketing Companies are actively working towards a greener India through various sustainable initiatives, including fuel efficiency programs, renewable energy integration, and public awareness campaigns.

The event also featured an engaging Nukkad Natak on Oil Conservation, creatively demonstrating the importance of fuel efficiency in everyday life followed by award to winners of Quiz Competition held on Saksham 2024-25.
